From the airport, you can hire a pre-paid taxi, which takes about 2. 5 to 3 hours to reach the main boat jetty area in Alleppey. Alternatively, you can take a bus or a train from nearby Aluva or Ernakulam to Alappuzha (Alleppey).
By Train: Alleppey has its own railway station, Alappuzha Railway Station (ALLP), which is well-connected to major cities in Kerala and other key cities in India, including Kochi (Ernakulam), Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. The railway station is very close to the city center and the main boat jetties, typically less than 5 KMS away. From the station, you can easily hire an auto-rickshaw or taxi to your accommodation or the houseboat boarding point. Traveling by train is a convenient and scenic option.
