Hyderabad, Telangana, India
What is Numaish: Numaish Masnu?t-e-Mulki, meaning 'Exhibition of Local Products and Crafts', is an annual consumer exhibition held in Hyderabad, commonly known as Numaish. It is a 46-day long event, typically running from January 1st to February 15th (dates may vary slightly), making it the only eve nt of its kind in the world to be organized for such an extended period at a single venue. It was first started in 1938 during the reign of the last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, to promote local and indigenous products. A Grand Shopping Festival: The exhibition features around 1,500 stalls from various parts of India, and sometimes even international exhibitors, offering a vast range of products, including handicrafts from Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, handloom garments, electronic goods, jewelry, and pottery. It's a massive market where visitors engage in bargaining for unique items. The event is a blend of commerce, culture, and entertainment. More Than Just Shopping: Apart from the shopping experience, Numaish is a major family outing destination. It includes a variety of entertainment options like joy rides (Giant Wheel, Mini Train, Ferris Wheel), food stalls offering local and international cuisine (especially Hyderabadi Haleem), and cultural programs. It symbolizes the spirit of Hyderabad and is a much-awaited annual fixture in the city's calendar. (Word Count: ? 195 words)

How to Reach

By Air (From Rajiv Gandhi International Airport - RGIA): The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) (HYD) is located about 30-35 KMS from the Numaish (Exhibition Ground) in Nampally. The best way to travel is by a prepaid or app-based taxi (Ola or Uber), which takes approximately 45-60 minutes. Public transport from the airport, while available, is less direct. By Train (From Hyderabad/Nampally, Secunderabad, and Kacheguda Stations): The Nampally Exhibition Ground is immediately adjacent to the Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) Railway Station. This is the nearest and most convenient way to arrive by train, as it is only a few minutes' walk. It is about 8 KMS from Secunderabad Junction and approximately 5-6 KMS from Kacheguda Railway Station. From these stations, you can take a taxi, auto-rickshaw, or the Metro to reach the exhibition.

By Road (Local Bus, Auto, Taxi): The exhibition ground is very centrally located on Mukarram Jahi Road in Nampally and is well-served by TSRTC city buses from all parts of Hyderabad. During the exhibition period (January-February), traffic can be heavy, and specific routes may be diverted, so planning for delays is crucial. Auto-rickshaws and app-based taxis are easily available, but due to the crowds, finding one during closing hours can be challenging.

By Local Transport (Metro and MMTS): The Gandhi Bhavan Metro Station (Red Line) is within walking distance, offering a quick and efficient way to avoid traffic congestion. The Nampally MMTS Station is also right next to the exhibition, making both local train and Metro excellent options for reaching the venue.
