How To Reach Palasdari Waterfall

Picturesque Monsoon Escape: Palasdari Waterfall, also sometimes called Palusa Waterfall, is a highly scenic and easily accessible waterfall located near Palasdari village, just outside Karjat. Like most waterfalls in the Western Ghats, its true beauty is unleashed during the torrential monsoon seaso n when water gushes down a rocky cliff face, creating a misty, refreshing spectacle. It is particularly popular with trekking groups and day-trippers from Mumbai and Pune due to its base being close to the Palasdari Railway Station (on the Karjat-Khopoli section of the Central Railway line), making it exceptionally convenient to reach by local train. The area is also home to the Palasdari Dam, built by the Indian Railways, adding to the picturesque, water-rich environment and establishing it as a prime natural picnic and bathing spot.

How to Reach

By Air: Nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai (approx. 85 KMS). Hire a taxi to Palasdari or take a train to Karjat and then a local train/auto.

By Train:

Most popular way: Take a Mumbai local train (Central Line) on the Khopoli route and alight directly at Palasdari Railway Station. The trek starts near the station. Alternatively, take an express/local train to Karjat and then change to a Karjat-Khopoli local train.

By Road: Drive from Mumbai (approx. 70 KMS) or Pune (approx. 100 KMS) via NH48 towards Khopoli or Karjat. The falls are located on the Karjat-Khopoli State Highway. Parking is available near the village/station.

By Local Transport: The location is best reached by train; from the station, the walk is the primary mode of reaching the falls.
