By Train: The closest major railway is in Kochi, Kerala. From there, take one of the cruise/cargo ships to Kalpeni (journey time is approx. 14-20 hours).
By Road: Travel on the island is very localized; the huts are easily reached from the jetty by a short walk or cycle ride.
By Local Transport: Local residents often use bicycles, which can be rented. The small size of the island makes motorized transport largely unnecessary for most points.
