Ledo: Gateway to the Stilwell Road

Ledo holds immense historical significance as the starting point of the Stilwell Road (originally known as the Ledo Road), a monumental engineering feat of World War II. This historic road was constructed by Allied forces, primarily American and Indian engineers and laborers, to supply China during the war after the Japanese had cut off the Burma Road.
