Mandalpatti Peak
Mandalpatti Peak is a stunning hilltop destination that offers one of the most panoramic views of the Western Ghats. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters, it is often referred to as 'Mugilu Pethu' in the local language, which translates to "Mist-Crowned Fold." The journey to the top is an adventure in itself, typically involving a rugged 4x4 jeep ride through steep and bumpy forest trails. Once at the summit, visitors are greeted by rolling green hills that stretch as far as the eye can see, often partially hidden by drifting clouds. The area is part of the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and provides a peaceful escape from the commercial bustle of Madikeri. It is a place where the air is crisp, the wind is powerful, and the landscape changes its mood every few minutes as the mist rolls in and out.
