Poomala Dam
Poomala Dam is a hidden treasure located in the Poomala valley, serving both irrigation and tourism purposes. It was officially designated as a tourist spot in 2010. The dam is unique as it is made of mud and stone, unlike the massive concrete structures seen elsewhere. It sits at an elevation of 9 4.5 meters above sea level and provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. The area is managed by the Minor Irrigation Department and has been beautified by the DTPC. It is much smaller and quieter than Peechi, making it ideal for those who prefer solitude. The reservoir is surrounded by lush forest land, and the drive up to the dam is quite scenic with winding roads. It is a popular spot for locals to spend their evenings, especially during the rainy season when the water level is high. The dam also features a walkway and a small park area for children. :
