Reviews Of Talakaveri

Coorg, Karnataka, India
Talakaveri is the most revered site in Coorg, situated on the slopes of the Brahmagiri hills. It is the source of the river Kaveri, one of the seven holy rivers of India. At this spot, there is a small square tank called Brahma Kundike, where the river is said to originate as a perennial spring. Th e water then flows underground and emerges at Kannike in Bhagamandala. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kaveriamma and Lord Agastheeshwara. Pilgrims come here from all over South India to take a holy dip in the tank. Apart from its religious value, the location offers a stunning panoramic view of the misty mountains and green valleys of the Western Ghats.
