Sriniketan Rural Centre
Sriniketan, meaning "Abode of Prosperity," is the second campus of Visva-Bharati University, located a short distance from the main Shantiniketan area. It was established in 1922 by Rabindranath Tagore with the help of Leonard Knight Elmhirst as the Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IRR). The route involves driving through Dankuni, Bardhaman, and then taking a turn at Panagarh towards Ilambazar and then Bolpur-Sriniketan. Regular bus services (State and private) run between Kolkata and Bolpur/Suri, and you can get off at the Sriniketan junction.
