Falkawn Village
Falkawn Village is an authentic Mizo cultural village and an open-air museum, offering a unique glimpse into the traditional way of life of the Mizo people. Maintained by the Mizoram Department of Art & Culture, this village is a living testament to the customs, history, and social structure of the Mizo tribe. Falkawn is designed to replicate a traditional Lusei village, complete with the chief?s house, the blacksmith?s shop, the bachelor's dormitory (Zawlbuk), and homes of common villagers. As you wander through the village, you can see how different sections of the community lived and interacted. The village showcases various aspects of Mizo life, from their agricultural practices and hunting techniques to their vibrant textiles and handicrafts. It is not just a collection of huts but a meticulously recreated environment that tells the story of the Mizo community?s resilience and deep-rooted traditions. A special stone monument stands in honor of the seven Mizo patriots who bravely resisted British colonization, adding a layer of historical significance to the cultural experience.
