How To Reach Gorumara National Park

By Train: The closest major railway station is New Mal Junction (NMZ), located just 20 KMs from Lataguri. Many local and a few express trains stop here. However, the most convenient major rail head is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), about 75 KMs away. NJP is an essential junction connecting all of North India. From NJP, travelers can hire a direct taxi, which takes about 2 hours, or opt for a local train to New Mal Junction and then take local transport to Lataguri. NJP is recommended for travelers arriving from distant cities like Kolkata or Delhi.

By Road: Gorumara is easily accessible via the extensive road network that crisscrosses the Dooars region. The main entrance, Lataguri, is well-connected by State Highways. A drive from Siliguri takes around 2 hours (80 KMs) via Sevoke and Malbazar. Regular government and private buses ply the route connecting Lataguri and Murti with neighboring towns and Siliguri. Shared jeeps are a popular and affordable way to travel between Lataguri, Murti, and the nearby town of Chalsa. However, for safaris, it is mandatory to use the forest-registered vehicles. Local cycle rickshaws are available for moving around the tourist village of Lataguri itself, allowing for a slow and pleasant experience of the local environment and its numerous small shops and eateries.
