It stands out for its eclectic and vast collection of over 10,000 artifacts sourced from around the globe, spanning several centuries and civilizations. Eclectic and Rare Holdings: The collection is renowned for its sheer diversity. It contains rare historical objects, including Mughal jade, ancient Chinese and Japanese porcelain, European ivory carvings, Roman glassware, and even artifacts with direct links to famous historical figures. Highlights include a dinner service set believed to have belonged to King George III of England, a four-poster bed associated with Napoleon Bonaparte, and a small, but historically significant, collection of artifacts from the ancient Indian city of Pataliputra and Bihar's history. The Historic Setting (Qila House): The museum is housed in the family's residence, the Qila House, which is itself a beautiful structure combining British Colonial and Traditional Indian architectural elements. The house is believed to stand on the foundations or near the remnants of the Sher Shah Suri Fort, which gives it its name ('Qila' meaning fort), cementing its historical location in the ancient eastern part of the city. Visit by Appointment Only: Its private nature dictates that it is not open to the general public and must be visited by prior appointment only. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport, Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (PAT), is about 14 KM away. Being in the far eastern part of the city, the drive can take up to 45-60 minutes due to traffic, even in a taxi or app-based cab.

By Train: Patna Junction (PNBE) is about 9 KM away. A significant part of the journey is through the busy Ashok Rajpath. Take a reserved auto-rickshaw or a cab and clearly state the destination as Qila House near Patna Sahib. Patna Sahib Station is much closer (less than 1 KM), but fewer long-distance trains stop there.

By Road: The museum is on Quila Road in the historical Patna Sahib area, which is easily accessible via Ashok Rajpath (the main east-west artery). Due to the heavy traffic, it is advisable to leave early for the appointment. The location is very close to the Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurudwara.

By Local Transport: Take a reserved auto-rickshaw or cab. Shared auto-rickshaws running the length of Ashok Rajpath will take you very close to the Patna Sahib Gurudwara, and a short walk or cycle-rickshaw can cover the final distance to Quila House.
