Overview: : The Yaganti Caves are a collection of natural rock shelters that have served as meditation spots for great saints for centuries. The most prominent among them is the Agastya Cave, where Sage Agastya is believed to have meditated to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva. To reach this cave , visitors must climb about 120 steep stone steps, rewarding them with a shrine dedicated to Goddess Parvati inside the cool rock interior. Another significant site is the Venkateswara Cave, which houses an ancient, slightly damaged idol of Lord Venkateswara. Local lore suggests that this idol was present here long before the Tirupati temple was built, making it a site of immense historical and religious value. The third major cave is the Veera Brahmam Cave, where the famous saint Potuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy wrote his prophetic work, the Kalagnanam. This cave is quite low in height, requiring devotees to bend down to enter, symbolizing humility before the divine. The caves provide a stark, meditative silence that contrasts with the bustling temple activities below. Exploring these caves involves a bit of physical exertion, but the panoramic views of the Yaganti valley from the top are breathtaking.
