Photos Of Lakshmeshwar Tara Temple

Darbhanga, Bihar, India
The Lakshmeshwar Tara Temple, also known as Laxmishwari Tara Temple, is a historic Hindu shrine located in the Kathalbari area of Darbhanga. It was built by Maharaja Rameshwar Singh in 1902 on the funeral pyre (Chita) of his elder brother, Maharaja Lakshmeshwar Singh, whose name it bears. It is dedi cated to Goddess Tara (a form of Devi Laxmi or a part of the Dasha Mahavidyas), and stands directly opposite the famous Shyama Mai Temple. This unique setting of temples built on the cremation grounds of the royal family (Raj Darbhanga) makes it a site of immense spiritual and historical significance, reflecting the deep faith and tradition of the Mithila region's royalty.
