Kesariya Stupa
Kesariya Stupa is a magnificent Buddhist monument that stands as a testament to the rich spiritual history of Bihar. It is widely regarded as the largest and tallest stupa in the world, surpassing even the famous Borobudur in Indonesia. According to Buddhist tradition, Lord Buddha spent his last da ys here before moving toward Kushinagar for his Mahaparinirvana. It is said that he gifted his begging bowl to the people of Vaishali at this very spot. The stupa remained buried under earth and vegetation for centuries until it was systematically excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in 1998. Today, it attracts pilgrims and history enthusiasts from across the globe who come to marvel at its scale and religious importance. The site offers a peaceful atmosphere for reflection and a deep connection to the ancient Buddhist trail. :
