How To Reach Mamit

How to Reach

By Air:: The nearest airport is Lengpui Airport (Aizawl) (IXA), approximately 110 KMS away. From the airport, hire a pre-booked taxi or take a shared Sumo/bus service to Mamit. The road journey takes about 4-5 hours.

By Train:: The nearest major railway station is Silchar Railway Station (SCL) in Assam, about 250 KMS away. A more convenient option is Bairabi Railway Station in Kolasib District (approx. 120 KMS), which has direct trains but less connectivity. From either station, take a bus or hired taxi to Mamit.

By Road:: Mamit is well-connected by road from Aizawl (approx. 105-110 KMS). Regular government and private bus services, as well as shared utility vehicles (Sumos or Boleros), operate daily between Aizawl and Mamit. The journey is scenic but winding.

By Local Transport:: Within the town, the primary mode of transport are local shared taxis and auto-rickshaws, though the town is small enough to be explored largely on foot.
