Post-Monsoon: October to February is the best time to visit as the waterfalls are full and the hills are a vibrant green. The weather is cool and misty, making it perfect for trekking, plantation walks, and enjoying the overall mountain atmosphere.
Summer Escape: From March to May, while the plains are hot, Idukki remains relatively cool and pleasant. It is a popular time for families to escape the heat and enjoy the various water-based activities in the dams and nearby hill stations like Munnar.
Daytime Selection: Early mornings before 9:00 AM are the best time to spot wildlife and enjoy the clearest views from the peaks. Late evenings after 4:00 PM are ideal for relaxing by the reservoir and watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange.
