By Train (The Local Lifeline of Mumbai): The nearest local railway station is Borivali Station (on the Western Line). The park gate is about 1. 5 KMS from the station's east side. Take an auto-rickshaw or a local bus from Borivali East to the SGNP main gate.
By Road (SGNP Internal Transport): Once you are at the SGNP main gate, the caves are an additional 7 KMS deep inside the park.
You have three options: 1. Take the park's internal shuttle bus service (highly recommended). 2. Take a taxi or auto-rickshaw (paying a vehicle entry fee). 3. If you drive your own private vehicle, you must pay the fee and drive carefully on the park roads.
By Local Transport (Auto-Rickshaws and Taxis): Auto-rickshaws and black-and-yellow taxis can take you from anywhere in the Western Suburbs to the SGNP main gate. Negotiate with a taxi/auto-rickshaw to take you all the way up to the caves and wait, as returning transport can be difficult to find.
