Khardung La Pass
Khardung La Pass is a historically significant mountain pass and was once a part of the ancient Silk Route. It connects the Indus Valley with the Shyok and Nubra valleys. For many years, it was considered the highest motorable pass in the world, a title that has since been challenged, but it still r emains one of the highest and most thrilling roads to drive on. The pass is strategically important to the Indian military as it is used to transport supplies to the Siachen Glacier.
