Lengpui Airport
Lengpui Airport is a remarkable engineering feat and the primary aerial gateway to the state of Mizoram. It is uniquely significant as it was the first major airport in India to be built by a State Government rather than the central authorities. Situated at an altitude of 405 meters above sea level, the airport serves the capital city of Aizawl, providing vital connectivity to major Indian cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, and Delhi. The airport is famous for its "table-top" runway, which means it is located on top of a plateau with steep drops at both ends.
