Mawsmai and Arwah caves are easily accessible and showcase stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations. How to Reach Heading By Air: Guwahati Airport (170 km) is the primary gateway. Shillong's Umroi Airport (80 km) has flights from Kolkata and Delhi. From either airport, you can hire a private taxi directly to Cherrapunji or take a bus to Shillong and change.

How to Reach Heading By Train: Guwahati Railway Station is the nearest rail connection. From there, take a shared taxi or bus to Shillong (3 hours) and then another shared sumo or private cab to Sohra (2 hours). The journey is smooth as the NH6 is well-maintained.

How to Reach Heading By Road: A well-paved highway connects Shillong to Cherrapunji. The 54 km drive takes about 1. 5 to 2 hours. Private cabs for a day trip from Shillong are common, but staying overnight is recommended to see all the sites.

How to Reach Heading By Local Transport: Within Sohra, you can hire local taxis for a "circuit tour" that covers all major points for a fixed price (usually 2000-2500 INR). Shared taxis run between the main market (Laitryngew) and nearby villages. Walking is great for short distances.
