Aam Khas Bagh

Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, India
Aam Khas Bagh is a historical remnant of a beautiful Mughal-era highway inn. The name "Aam Khas" translates to "common and special," as the garden was originally built to serve both the public (Aam) and the Mughal royalty (Khas). The complex, which was originally built by Emperor Akbar and later ren ovated by Emperor Shah Jahan, served as a major stopover for the Mughals on their way to Lahore. The complex is a sprawling structure with a series of beautiful courtyards, gardens, and fountains. Although much of it is now in ruins, the remaining structures, including the Sarad Khana (an air-conditioned structure) and the Hamam (the royal bath), still bear testament to the architectural brilliance of the Mughal era. The site is a popular destination for tourists and is a great place to learn about the history of the Mughal era and its rich cultural heritage.
