Bhalukjuri Waterfall

Agnigarh, Assam, India
Located near the boundary of Sonitpur, this waterfall is a serene natural retreat. The name is derived from the Assamese words Bhaluk meaning bear and Juri meaning stream. Local legends suggest that bears used to frequent this stream to quench their thirst. The water cascades down a rocky cliff int o a shallow pool, creating a soothing melody that resonates through the dense surrounding forest. It is a perfect spot for those looking to escape the hustle of the city and immerse themselves in the raw beauty of Assam. The site remains relatively untouched by heavy commercialization, offering an authentic wilderness experience. Visitors can enjoy the cool spray of the water and the vibrant greenery of the Karbi Anglong hills. The trek to the falls is an adventure in itself, passing through lush forest paths filled with native flora and fauna.
