Diengiei Peak
Diengiei Peak is the second-highest point in Meghalaya, standing at an altitude of approximately 6,200 Feet. It is a unique geological site because the summit features a large, cup-shaped hollow that scientists believe is the crater of an ancient, extinct volcano. The peak offers a 360-degree panora mic view of the surrounding Khasi Hills, the Umiam Lake, and the distant plains of Bangladesh. The climb to the top is steep and exhilarating, passing through dense pine groves and open rocky plateaus. Unlike the more crowded Shillong Peak, Diengiei offers a sense of solitude and peace.
