Kevadia, Gujarat, India
The Statue of Unity is a monumental tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of independent India, often referred to as the Iron Man of India. Standing at a staggering height of 182 meters, it currently holds the record for being the tallest statue in the entire world. It is loc ated on the river island called Sadhu Bet, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River. The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018, marking the 143rd birth anniversary of the leader. This colossal structure is not just a statue but a symbol of national integrity and the massive effort of integrating 562 princely states into the Indian Union.
