Weather And Best Time To Visit In Arunachal Pradesh
Weather and Best Time to Visit
Spring Season (March to April): This is a beautiful time to visit as the rhododendrons and orchids are in full bloom across the hills. The temperature ranges from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for trekking and outdoor exploration. The valleys are lush green, and the weather is generally clear, providing great views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
Winter Season (October to February): This is the peak tourist season when the skies are the clearest and the weather is cool to cold. In December and January, high-altitude areas like Tawang experience heavy snowfall, turning the landscape into a white wonderland. It is the best time for photography and attending major festivals like Losar and Torgya.
Monsoon Season (June to September): Traveling during the monsoon is challenging due to heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides blocking the roads. However, for those who love the rain, the waterfalls like Nuranang are at their most powerful and the forests are intensely green. It is also the time for the Solung and Dree festivals, offering a deep cultural experience despite the weather.
Different Parts of the Day: Early mornings (4 AM to 7 AM) are the most magical time in Arunachal to witness the sunrise and mountain mist. Late afternoons (3 PM to 5 PM) offer a golden glow over the monasteries and valleys before the sun sets early around 5:00 PM. Evenings are best spent indoors, as temperatures drop rapidly once the sun goes down.
