Bir Billing
Bir Billing is a world-famous destination consisting of two villages: Billing (the takeoff point) and Bir (the landing site). It gained international fame after hosting the Paragliding World Cup in 2015. The takeoff site at Billing is situated at an altitude of 2400 meters, providing one of the best aero-sports sites in the world. The flight offers a bird's-eye view of the entire Kangra Valley, tea gardens, and the majestic Himalayan peaks. Bir is also a significant center for Tibetan culture, home to several beautiful monasteries like the Chokling Monastery. The landing site in Bir is a vibrant area filled with cozy cafes and local markets selling Tibetan handicrafts. Besides paragliding, the region is excellent for trekking, mountain biking, and camping. The "Sunset Point" at the landing site is a popular hangout spot where tourists gather to watch the gliders descend as the sun sets.
