Buddha Park

Ravangla, Sikkim, India
Buddha Park, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is the most iconic landmark in Ravangla. Inaugurated in 2013 by the 14th Dalai Lama, it was built to commemorate the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha. The centerpiece of the park is a massive, gold-covered statue of Buddha that can be seen from m iles away. The park is designed as a peaceful sanctuary for both tourists and spiritual seekers. It features beautifully manicured gardens, a fountain show, and a series of walkways that offer breathtaking views of Mount Kanchenjunga. Inside the base of the statue, there is a gallery with intricate paintings and displays depicting the life of Buddha. The ambiance is one of utter serenity, enhanced by the soft Buddhist chants played over the speakers throughout the day. It has successfully put Ravangla on the global tourism map, attracting thousands of visitors every year who come to admire its grandeur and seek mental peace.
