Gold Sand Beach

Neyyattinkara, Kerala, India
Coastal Confluence: Gold Sand Beach is a pristine stretch of sand located where the Neyyar River meets the Arabian Sea at Poovar. The beach is unique because it is accessible primarily by boat, making it an exclusive and quiet destination. The golden hue of the sand under the sun gives the beach its name. It is bordered by the sea on one side and the backwaters on the other. This creates a spectacular geographical setting that is rare in Kerala. The beach is famous for its floating resorts and serene environment. It is a prime location for relaxation and witnessing the power of the estuary. The waves here can be strong, so it is more for viewing than swimming. The sunrise and sunset views from this narrow strip of land are legendary. It remains one of the most photographed spots in the district.
