By Train: The nearest major railway station is Pollachi Junction (POY), about 24 KMS away, which has connectivity to Coimbatore and other regional centers. The most convenient major railhead is Coimbatore Junction (CBE), about 60 KMS away. From the station, taxis and local buses are readily available to the dam.
By Road: Aliyar Dam is well-connected by road, situated on the main route between Pollachi and Valparai (SH 78). Frequent local and express buses run from Pollachi Bus Stand to the dam. It is an easy drive from Pollachi (24 KMS) and a significant stop on the way to Valparai (40 KMS). Private taxis are the most comfortable option.
By Local Transport: Local buses and shared autorickshaws (from Pollachi) are the most economical way to reach the dam. For the onward journey to Valparai, one can hire a taxi or catch a government bus from the Aliyar area.
