The Boating Point (Pochampadu) is located at the majestic Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP), one of the largest irrigation projects in Telangana. Although it is about an hour's drive from Bodhan, it serves as a major regional attraction for those seeking water sports and scenic views. The boating point is situated on the vast backwaters of the Godavari River, where the government and private operators provide various vessel types for tourists. As you glide over the deep blue waters, you get a sense of the immense scale of the dam, which provides water to millions of acres of farmland. The area around the boating point is developed with parks, viewpoints, and small eateries. During the peak monsoon season, when the dam gates are open, the sight of the rushing water is breathtaking, though boating may be restricted for safety. In the calmer months, the lake-like atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing boat ride with friends or family. The project was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1963 and has since become a symbol of the state's agricultural prosperity. Visiting the boating point also allows you to see the technical brilliance of the 42 crest gates and the massive reservoir walls. It is a refreshing contrast to the dry plains of the region, offering a "sea-side" feel in the heart of Northern Telangana.

By Air: Hyderabad is the nearest major airport; a 4-5 hour drive via NH 44.

By Train: Nizamabad Railway Station (40 KM away) is the closest major railhead; taxis are available from there.

By Road: Drive from Bodhan via the Basar-Nizamabad highway; the road is well-maintained and scenic.

By Local Transport: Private taxis are the best option from Bodhan, as bus frequency directly to the boating point can be limited.
