How to Reach

By Air The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (COK), located about 45 kilometers from Fort Kochi. From the airport, you can hire a pre-paid taxi, which takes approximately 1. 5 to 2 hours to reach Fort Kochi, depending on traffic. You can also take a bus from the airport to the city center (Vyttila Mobility Hub) and then a local bus or ferry. By Train The nearest major railway station is Ernakulam Junction (ERS) or Ernakulam Town (ERN). ERS is the larger and more connected station, approximately 15 kilometers from the nets. From the railway station, you can easily find pre-paid taxis, auto-rickshaws, or local buses heading towards Fort Kochi or Mattancherry. By Road Fort Kochi is well-connected by road to the mainland Ernakulam and other major cities in Kerala. You can hire a cab or take a public bus to Fort Kochi. If driving your own vehicle, be aware that parking in the narrow, historic lanes of Fort Kochi can be challenging, though spots are available near the beach and square. By Local Transport (The Best Way) The most scenic and economical way is to take a ferry from Ernakulam (Ernakulam Jetty) to the Fort Kochi Jetty. The ferry ride is very cheap and offers beautiful views of the backwaters and the harbor. Once you alight at the Fort Kochi Jetty, the Chinese Fishing Nets are a short 5-to-10-minute walk along the beach promenade. Alternatively, local auto-rickshaws are readily available in Fort Kochi to take you around the area.
