Place Details: This site is a historical cemetery dedicated to the very first Mizo converts to Christianity. It dates back to the early 1900s when missionary work first began in the southern hills. Before this, traditional Mizo burials were often done near houses, but this site marked the shift to communal Christian cemeteries. It is a place of great reverence and solemnity, reflecting the religious transformation of the region. Many of the gravestones are over a century old and feature inscriptions in the old Mizo script. The cemetery is perched on a hill, providing a quiet place for reflection. It stands as a testament to the courage of the 40 families who first settled here after being ostracized. The site is meticulously maintained by the local church and the village community. Visitors often come here to pay their respects to the pioneers of modern Mizo society. The atmosphere is peaceful, surrounded by pine trees and mountain air. It is not just a burial ground but a site of profound cultural and spiritual history. The early education of the Mizo people is closely linked to the families buried here.

By Train: Silchar station, then a 10-hour bus ride.

By Road: Take a local bus or taxi from Lunglei main market.
