How To Reach Mannamkonam Sree Bhagavathy Temple

Mannamkonam Sree Bhagavathy Temple is a highly revered Hindu shrine located very close to the heart of Nedumangad. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, who is worshipped here in a powerful yet benevolent form. It has a rich history dating back over 300 years, making it one of the oldest temple s in the region. The temple is situated in a serene environment, surrounded by traditional sacred trees like Al (Banyan), Palm, and Koovalam (Bael). Legend says that the Goddess was initially worshipped on the horn of a deer by tribal ancestors. Later, the local community built a permanent structure to house the deity. Apart from the main deity, there are shrines for Ganapati, Bhadrakali, Madan Thampuran, and Nagaraja. The temple serves as a spiritual hub for the people of Nedumangad. The atmosphere inside the temple complex is calm and filled with the scent of incense and flowers. Daily rituals are performed with great devotion by the priests. The temple is especially crowded on Tuesdays and Fridays, which are considered auspicious for the Goddess. During the Malayalam months, special pujas are conducted to seek blessings for the community. The temple pond nearby is used for ritualistic purposes. The management is handled by a local committee that ensures the preservation of traditions. It is a place where one can experience the authentic temple culture of South Kerala. The architecture reflects the traditional Kerala style with intricate wood carvings. Many devotees believe that praying here helps in overcoming obstacles in life. The temple is easily accessible and forms an integral part of the local heritage.

By Train: Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is 18 KMS from the temple.

By Road: Located just off the main road in Nedumangad.

By Local Transport: Auto-rickshaws are easily available from Nedumangad KSRTC bus stand, which is only 2 KMS away. Walking from the town center is also an option for those who enjoy short strolls.
