How to Reach

By Air:: Fly to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam (Approx. 165 KMS). The most practical way is to hire a private taxi to Mawsynram and then to the specific motorable road leading to the viewpoint's base.

By Train:: The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) (Approx. 160 KMS). From the station, take a shared taxi or bus to Shillong, and then a dedicated local cab to Mawsynram.

By Road:: Mawsynram is 60 KMS from Shillong. From Mawsynram center, hire a local private taxi. The viewpoint (e. g. , Lum Symper) is typically a 15-20 minute drive on a good road, followed by a short, uphill walk/trek (30-45 minutes).

By Local Transport:: Local private taxis are the best option for reaching the base of the trek. For the hike, it is essential to have comfortable, sturdy footwear and, ideally, a local guide, as the high-altitude weather can be disorienting.
