The Holy Atmalinga and Spiritual Importance: The Mahabaleshwara Temple is one of the most revered Hindu temples in India, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is considered one of the seven sacred Muktikshetras (places of salvation) in Karnataka, often called Dakshin Kasi (Kasi/Varanasi of the South). The temple's legend, linked to Ravana and Lord Ganesha, is the cornerstone of Gokarna's spiritual identity.
