Mussoorie Lake
Mussoorie Lake is a relatively recent addition to the town's tourist map, developed by the City Board and MDDA. It is an artificial lake created by a natural depression and fed by a local mountain stream. Located on the main Dehradun-Mussoorie highway, it serves as a popular pitstop for travelers e ntering the hill station. The lake offers stunning views of the Doon Valley and the surrounding rolling hills. It has become a favorite spot for families due to the various recreational activities available, such as paddle boating and water zorbing. The perimeter of the lake is lined with small shops selling snacks and local items. It is particularly beautiful during the Monsoon when the greenery is lush and the clouds descend over the water. The lake is also home to several ducks, adding to its charm for children. Although man-made, the integration with the natural landscape is seamless, providing a peaceful escape from the traffic of the main road. It is often the first major attraction tourists see when driving up from Dehradun.
