Surajpur Bird Sanctuary
Surajpur Bird Sanctuary is a significant reserve forest and wetland situated in the Yamuna River basin. Covering over 300 hectares, it is one of the few remaining large green lungs of the NCR. The sanctuary is managed by the UP Forest Department and WWF-India. It is home to diverse flora and fauna, including over 180 species of birds, mammals like the Nilgai, and reptiles. The central feature is a massive lake that attracts thousands of migratory ducks in the winter, such as the Red-crested Pochard and Bar-headed Goose.
