Travel Tips Of Phugtal Monastery
Tourism Tips
Packing: Pack warm, layered clothing (even in summer), sturdy trekking boots, rain gear, sun protection (high SPF cream, hat, sunglasses), a headlamp/torch, and high-energy snacks for the trek.
Accommodation:
Accommodation at the monastery is very basic, primarily a simple guest house or homestays in Purney or Cha Village. Book ahead if possible, and carry your own sleeping bag for hygiene.
Respect Local Culture: Dress modestly, especially when visiting the monastery. Always ask for permission before photographing monks or locals. Maintain silence and respect during prayer times and inside the shrines.
