Bengkhuaia Thlan
Bengkhuaia Thlan is the burial site of the legendary Mizo Chief Bengkhuaia, who played a pivotal role in the history of the Lushai Hills during the 19th Century. Bengkhuaia was the Chief of Sailam and is most famously known for his raid on the Alexandrapur tea estate in 1871, where his forces captu red a young British girl named Mary Winchester (known to the Mizos as Zoluti). This act triggered the Lushai Expedition of 1871-72 by the British military. Despite the conflict, historical accounts suggest that Bengkhuaia treated Mary with great kindness, treating her as his own daughter.
