The Ghara Water Fall, almost universally known by its popular name Tiger Falls (or locally as Keraao Pachad or Kailu Pachad), is one of the most stunning and highly visited natural attractions near Chakrata. It holds the distinction of being one of Uttarakhand's highest direct waterfalls, with its p owerful, icy waters plunging a remarkable distance of about 312 feet (95 meters) into a serene, clear pool at its base. The waterfall is situated approximately 20 kilometers from the main Chakrata town. Access to this magnificent sight requires a moderate, scenic trek of about 5 kilometers downhill from the nearest motorable roadhead. The trek itself is incredibly rewarding, winding through a dense, lush green forest dominated by rhododendron, oak, and deodar trees, offering a true immersion into the peaceful wilderness of the Garhwal Himalayas. The waterfall's base pool is a popular spot for visitors to relax, dip their feet in the cool water, and have picnics.
