The Chilla Dam (Power House), officially part of the Garhwal Rishikesh Chilla Hydroelectric Scheme, is a monumental run-of-the-river project on the holy river Ganga. Completed in 1981, this facility is managed by the Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL). It operates by diverting water from the Ganga through a 14.1 KM long power channel starting from the Virbhadra Barrage.
