How to Reach

By Air: The nearest major airport is Chandigarh Airport (IXC), approximately 85 KMS away; from the airport, hire a pre-booked taxi or take a bus to Solan and then a local taxi to Dolanji; Shimla Airport (SLV) is closer (approx. 48 KMS) but has limited flight connectivity; By Train: The nearest wide-gauge railway station is Kalka (KLK), approximately 60 KMS away, which connects to major Indian cities; from Kalka, you can take the UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla narrow-gauge Toy Train to Solan Railway Station (SOL), then hire a local taxi for the final 24 KM stretch to Dolanji; By Road: Dolanji is well-connected by road, located about 24 KM from Solan via the Narag–Sarahan Road, and about 7 KM from Ochghat; the drive from Chandigarh via the NH-5 is scenic and takes around 2-3 hours (85 KM); Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses run frequently to Solan from major North Indian cities; By Local Transport: From Solan Bus Stand or Railway Station, hire a local cab or a shared taxi directly to the monastery, which is the most convenient final leg of the journey.
