How To Reach Montang Valley
Teliamura, Tripura, India
Overview of the Site: Montang Valley, often called the "Mountain of Peace," is a newly popular tourist destination nestled high in the Atharamura Hills. It is famed for its breathtaking panoramic views, often featuring Floating Clouds below the viewpoint, especially after the monsoon or in the early morning. The site was recently developed by local community efforts and is a perfect example of community-based eco-tourism. It offers a raw, untouched beauty of the hill ranges of Tripura, contrasting with the plains. The journey itself is an adventure through dense rubber plantations and forests. It provides a serene, quiet escape, showcasing the state's potential for hill tourism and tribal culture. The infrastructure is minimal, emphasizing the natural landscape. The Tong Ghar (traditional tribal house) adds a unique cultural element to the hilltop. : Geographical Feature: The valley is part of the Atharamura Hill Range, one of the key north-south running tilas (hills) of Tripura. Its high altitude allows visitors to often stand above the clouds, offering a spectacular sight, which is the primary draw for tourists seeking unique geographical phenomena.
