How to Reach

By Air: Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), approximately 108 KMS away. Hire a private taxi directly to Chakrata and then to Chilmiri Neck; By Train: Nearest major railway station is Dehradun Railway Station (DDN), approximately 98 KMS away. Take a taxi or bus to Chakrata, and then a dedicated local cab is the best option for the uphill drive; By Road: Chilmiri Neck is about 8 KMS from Chakrata market on a good motorable, steep road that passes through the cantonment area. Access is smooth via private or hired vehicle; By Local Transport: Local taxis (Jeeps/Sumos) are easily available from the Chakrata market for a dedicated round trip to Chilmiri Neck. Walking the distance is a pleasant but long and uphill trek.
