How To Reach Sunset Point
How to Reach
By Train: The nearest railway station is Kotdwar Railway Station, about 40 KMs away. Kotdwar has good connectivity to major cities like Delhi via trains like the Garhwal Express. From Kotdwar, hire a local taxi or take a shared jeep/bus up to Lansdowne. The taxi ride from the station to Lansdowne takes roughly 1. 5 to 2 hours.
By Road: Lansdowne is well-connected by motorable roads. Regular bus services (Uttarakhand Roadways) and private taxis run from Delhi (approx. 250 KMs), Dehradun, and Haridwar via Kotdwar. The route is scenic but winding. Drive carefully, especially on the hill sections.
By Local Transport: Once in Lansdowne town, Sunset Point (near Jaiharikhal) is about 5. 6 KMs from the main market. You can hire a local private taxi, an auto-rickshaw (if available, mostly around town center), or a shared jeep. The final approach to the viewpoint is a short, pleasant walk from the nearest motorable road/parking. Walking is also a great option for the health-conscious, offering beautiful scenery en route.
