Main Building Spread Over Large Area : The architectural style is predominantly Scottish Baronial, characterized by rough stone construction, high gables, tall chimneys, and a profusion of ornamental arches and projecting windows. It is built entirely of local stone and wood. A defining feature is the internal structure, which was one of the first buildings in India to have electric lighting (as early as 1888) and an elaborate system for supplying hot and cold water. The teak-paneled interiors, the grand ballroom, and the council chamber where historical decisions were made are notable. The sheer scale and meticulous detailing of the stonework represent the peak of colonial power and architectural endeavor in the region. -
