Saramsa Garden
Saramsa Garden, also known as the Ipecac Garden, is one of the most meticulously maintained botanical parks in the Pakyong district. Established in 1922 by the Sikkim Forest Department, it was originally intended to grow fruits for the Namgyal Royal Family and the British political officers. Later, it became a center for cultivating the medicinal plant 'Ipecacuanha', giving it its secondary name. Today, it stands as a premier recreational spot and a center for floriculture. The garden is divided into several thematic blocks, each showcasing a variety of exotic flowers, orchids, and ornamental plants. Large, manicured lawns provide ample space for families to enjoy picnics, while the shaded walkways are perfect for romantic strolls. The garden also features a modern convention center that has hosted international flower shows, putting Sikkim on the global floriculture map.
