Travel Tips Of Simps' Point
Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India
Simps' Point is a picturesque, slightly elevated spot, or more accurately, a serene location, historically part of the vast estate or campus area of the prestigious IIT Roorkee (formerly Thomason College of Civil Engineering). While modern search results sometimes confuse it with local restaurants d ue to a similar name, the original Simps' Point is known as a tranquil area within the campus, often overlooking a green expanse or the older residential/institutional buildings. Its name likely relates to a British official or professor from the colonial era who favored the spot. It is cherished for its peaceful atmosphere, offering a break from the academic and city bustle. It's not a grand monument, but rather a quiet area ideal for evening walks, reflection, and enjoying the well-maintained greenery that characterizes the IIT campus. It represents the softer, more contemplative side of the historic engineering town.:
