Travel Tips Of Tilyar Lake & Zoo
Integrated Tourist Complex: Tilyar Lake & Zoo refers to the entire Tilyar Tourist Complex, a major leisure and natural hub developed and managed by Haryana Tourism. The complex centers around the vast Tilyar Lake (approx. 132 acres total area, with the lake itself covering around 20 acres), which is a crucial habitat for local and migratory birds, making it a birdwatcher's paradise. The adjacent Tilyar Mini Zoo (Rohtak Zoo), which is also part of the complex (covering 44 acres), adds a wildlife viewing and educational component. The complex is well-equipped with amenities, including a motel, restaurant, fast-food center, and boating facilities, making it an all-in-one weekend destination. It serves as a green buffer zone and a primary picnic spot for the people of Rohtak and travelers from nearby Delhi. The large, serene water body and the surrounding forest cover create a peaceful, resort-like atmosphere.
